The search for the next Miss Malaika begins

From the TV screens to the law courts; hospitals to the banks; the acting fraternity to international organizations and a lot more; there really is no denying the fact that no beauty pageant in Ghana has groomed worthy assets for Ghana like Miss Malaika. “Being a queen is not all about outer beauty, it has much to do with your intelligence, your service to people, and your social contributions to your community and your civic contributions as well” – Aretha Franklin. The above quote is a true definition of Ghana’s first and most rewarding beauty pageant show to be aired as a thirteen-week reality TV show. Miss Malaika has over the years positioned itself as not just another beauty pageant but one that thrives on its core value expressed in its tagline, “beautiful inside out!”. Meaning beauty that transcends just what is seen on the outside. Saving lives in various hospitals are Malaika Queens Tamara and Laurie, while Berla Mundi, Regina, Anita Akuffo and a host of others put smiles on the faces of many with their various philanthropic activities and works on radio and TV. Also taking up various entrepreneurial roles and making significant impacts are the likes of Karen Kash and Gwen Gyimah, not forgetting our very first queen, Thelma who fights for the downtrodden and the rights of the less fortunate in our society. They walk, they talk, they write, they debate, they create and they influence positively in their various fields of endeavour. Skills gained from the many grooming sessions and tasks embarked on while partaking in Ghana’s most respected beauty pageant, Miss Malaika Ghana. Having paved the way and supported the CEO of Royal Seed orphanage to win the 2018 edition of the MTN Heroes of Change Program, the journey to find our next queen to replace Miss Pearl Nyarko, Miss Malaika Ghana 2017 has just begun. The search isn’t only for that one adorable lady to win the cash, car and crown but a set of ladies who will make huge impacts on society through various initiatives. Being the 16thedition of Miss Malaika Ghana, Charterhouse Productions, organizers have unveiled the first phase of the search dubbed, ‘TAG A QUEEN’. It involves a simple process of uploading the picture of an interested candidate as many times as possible with the hashtag #MALAIKA2018 on all Miss Malaika social media handles i.e. Twitter and Instagram on @MISSMALAIKAGH,Facebook on @MISSMALAIKA Ghana. The more tags a potential next queen gets from different handles, the higher her chances of getting selected. This process willselect some 25 delegates who will each earn an automatic qualification to the semi-final stage of the search.   Then comes the grand audition which will be the second phase of the process slated for Friday, 13th July 2018at the plush Tomreik Hotel,Accra.
