Selasi ‘The African Kid’ releases video for ‘Call The Police’ ahead of new EP
Atlanta-based Ghana-born singer, songwriter and producer Selasi aka The African Kid has released the video to his hit song, ‘Call The Police’, a smooth infusion of reggae and hiphop that brings to bear Selasi’s diversity both in style and depth. Selasi is expected to release his EP, ‘Shades Of Grey’ on December 3. The talented producer has also been busy producing songs for Q Parker (from the group 112) for his new album ‘The Manual’, and also working with a rap group the rap group, Rich Kidz of Columbia Records. He recently finished shooting for the Real Housewives Of Atlanta, working with Kandi and now working on a new show with Bravo TV titled ‘Kandi Factory’ . Selasi has worked with different artists/ industry personnel such as Brian Jackson, Akon, Pimp C , Jagged Edge, Ying Yang Twins, Trey Songz, Keysha Cole, Rasheeda, Killa Mike, Devyne Stephens, Bone Thugs n Harmony, Petey Pablo, Boys in Da Hood, Bobby Valentino, Yung Joc among others and has gained the respect of the industry as the next big producer, artist, song-writer, engineer. With a sound that meshes his African roots with an American lifestyle, Selasi proves to be the epitome of balance on every song. In one swoop he can rap alongside Gucci Mane on club skewed tracks like “Way Over Here” and switch lanes into one-drop reggae songs like “Our Father” dedicated to his homeland.
