Listen UP: Signal drops new single, ‘Bukola’

Published

on

InShot 20210130 034706912

After Signal’s candid hip-hop classic featuring multiple VGMA nominee, Tulenkey and Nigerian hip-hop connoisseur, Maytronomy, Ghanaian international rap artiste Signal is back with a romantic melody for the girls. He titles this track Bukola.

Signal describes the song as a romantic, nostalgic eulogy to his old flame, Bukola.
The song has a very interesting storyline; it is about how Signal kept qualms about a lady he cohabited back in his college days. In an interview with legendary DJ Slim of Radio one, Kumasi, he made it clear about judging this Nigerian lady because of how she carries herself in skimpy clothes, tattoos, pierces and grand opulence.
The wordplay king shares his emotional character on this track. Bukola happens to be Signal ‘s first vocally dominated record.
Enjoy the Regal Dynasty C.E.O’s voice on this brand new song for Valentine’s day here: https://signal.fanlink.to/Bukolasex

Zakes Bantwini Tells Apple Music About His Album, ‘The Star Is Reborn’

My album ‘The Star Is Reborn’ is like a continuation of my last album, ‘Ghetto King.’ I feel like sonically it’s more or less like an extension of that album because that sound I’m still exploring. On that album, ‘Ghetto King,’ it was an introduction to the way Afrohouse and Afrotech – the music, the way now it’s sounding – and I felt like there was still a lot of instruments I still want to use in the sound, so the extension of that culminated in ‘The Star Is Reborn.’

Zakes Bantwini Tells Apple Music How Artists Like Tyla Can Influence South African Performers

When you look at artists now like Tyla… I feel like audiences need to see a performance and in South Africa we don’t get to see a performance a lot, because most people who are happening in South Africa have to stand behind the decks, because the music is carried by DJs in South Africa and I think that needs to change. We still need to find more artists performing dances, really doing something amazing and that’s why Tyla is so important. She’s saying “Hey” to the world, “We are South Africans and we perform like this.” That’s why I’m loving what is happening right now.

Amartey previews forthcoming EP with all-new single ‘Listen’

Whenever Mr. More Energy is around the corner, you know you’re in for the thrill of a lifetime! And one listen of his latest single is enough to understand why. The ‘Dey Inside’ crooner pulls on the right heartstrings with a simple yet effective title. He presents ‘Listen,’ a beautiful homage to his hometown and the first preview of his forthcoming EP “House of Energy,” slated for a 2024 release. ‘Listen’ is available on all digital streaming platforms globally here: https://share.amuse.io/track/amartey-listen

With Amapiano’s popularity saturating every inch of the Atlantic, Amartey is ready to be one of its focal points in Europe and of course, back home. A result of this ambition is ‘Listen.’ Over nifty log drum grooves and soothing melodies, Amartey invites fans to hear him out as he paints an expressive picture of where he longs to be: Teshie Penny–a suburb in Accra, Ghana. His vivid description makes for a striking premise that captures his heart and flair in a captivating mold full of authentic West African vibes.

A man on a mission to win over listeners, Amartey is a singer-songwriter and performer born and raised in Amsterdam-Zuidoost with Ga- Adangbe blood pumping through his veins. His versatility and knack for producing quality music have not only seen him sell out two headline shows at Melkweg but have spun viral radio hits such as ‘Nobody Like You’ (2015) and recently ‘Dey Inside’ (2022), which has approximately 500,000 streams on Spotify as of November 2023.

Amartey’s versatility has also seen him bounce between Afrobeats, R&B, Pop and now Amapiano–a genre quickly taking over Amsterdam’s nightclub scene by storm. From his splendid showcase at Eurosonic Noorderslag to performing on the Dutch TV program De Wereld Draait Door and winning the Grote Prijs van Nederland, the talented singer has proved himself a big stepper in the Dutch music scene. Largely thanks to his 2017 EP, ‘YBFTS,’ which ranked #1 and #16 on Apple’s iTunes World Music and iTunes Music charts, respectively.

‘Listen’ is produced by Ghana’s StreetBeatz. It is a tribute to Amartey’s roots and a showcase of his ability to switch between genres seamlessly. Don’t miss the chance to experience this thriving sound.
