Ghanaian Highlife and Afrobeats musician, Andrew Nii Commey Otoo, well recognized by the stage name Mr Drew, has recently shared how he handles negative energy from social media trolls.

According to him, he sometimes wishes to respond to trolls on social media as they ruin his reputation and image. He revealed that these trolls frustrate him, and he wishes he could speak to address the issue, but doing so might cause more damage to his reputation in the public domain.

The ‘Case’  hitmaker in an interview on TV3 Newday with Naa Ashokor and Cookie Tee, further lamented how some people paint him black on social media because of certain things they misunderstood about him about his music career. He, however, made it known that he controls his emotions to refrain from responding even though it is disturbing,  how it feels to be trolled on social media.

He detailed that, ”People hating and making stories up, painting us black at the end of the day. We know what we have done and what we’ve been doing. We can’t go out at the same time we are in the public domain and we can’t go out and explain ourselves to everybody.

”Sometimes, it is very frustrating because you wish you could speak at the same time you look at the damage it will cause you when you speak up. People will still twist your words regardless of what you say, so sometimes you just have to keep it to yourself. Just keep everything in your chest, and keep moving,” he added.
