Special D and Noelle Francesca the plug for Ghana musicians in the UK
Dynamic duo DJ Special D and Noelle Francesca have made it their mission to be the plug for Ghana musicians in the UK. They intend to do this by constantly playing Ghanaian music on their radio show ‘the special delivery show’ and shading light on new artists through their new features segment.
Special D broke into the Ghanaian music scene via Akwaaba UK, after constantly shutting down their UK events to become one of the most sought-after DJs in the UK to play in Ghana.
“I’m not just a DJ, I’m an all-round entertainer”.
These are the words expressed when described about Special D. His ability to ‘think outside the box’ and entertain an array of crowds using his range of versatile music to become one of the leading upcoming DJ’s to grace the UK scene.
Music is the food that helps a DJ become great at their craft. Music is what keeps me going through the days. Special D has come a long way to become what’s known today as an emerging, talented UK DJ. London born to Ghanaian parents, Mr Desmond Amonoo aka DJ Special D knows exactly what kind of music will get people in the mood for enjoyment, supplying endless talents in all genres of music, from Afrobeats to R&B to even a bit of Commercial and much more, making Special D one of the most versatile DJ’s in the UK.
He has performed on bigger platforms across the world including that which featured international artistes like Sean Paul, Mayorkun, KiDi and Kuami Eugene to name a few. He is also the international DJ for Stonebwoy outside of Ghana.
Noelle Francesca has been in the media space from a very young age; as young as she can remember, she’s won dancing competitions and all sorts. She has been active for almost 10 years, both in work, school and serving the media department in her church. However, she decided to take her passion for media and entertainment seriously in 2011 when she finished sixth form.
Noelle Francesca first burst into the Ghanaian music scene as a dancer and later became a radio presenter on the special delivery show with DJ Special D. In March 2020, Noelle Francesca was the first female to host an Akwaaba UK event. Ghana Independence Hall Party which she hosted a crowd of 500+ people.
“I’m more than just a presenter, I steer the show, I control it , I own it. I direct it, it’s my canvas and I am a pretty good artist. I bring magic and happiness to people’s event”.
With her bubbly and funny personality, Noelle Francesca has often expressed her love for bringing people together and being a ‘connect’ to help get things done.
Presenting is an art; it is storytelling and how well you tell the story will depend on the writer in this case the presenter. Noelle Francesca has her own show titled “Talks With Noelle” which goes beyond the lives of public figures and discusses issues they’ve faced or encountered such as depression, mental health and so forth.
London born and raised to Ghanaian parents, Miss Noelle Asiedu aka Noelle Francesca knows exactly how to get the party started. She studies the environment, the vibe and the people to see exactly what they need. Booking Noelle Francesca means you get a dancer, rapper, and comedian all in one.
She hosted events attended by the mayor of Greenwich, hosted events with the likes of Ofori Amponsah, Quamina MP, Silvastone, Kwamz and flava, Joe Mettle and many more.
Special D has a radio show called the Special Delivery Show on Tribe Urban Radio (https://www.tribeurbanradio.com), a station based in the UK, Mondays 7-9pm with his co-host Noelle Francesca.
They have interviewed over 50 African artistes on the show such as Teni, Mayorkun, KiDi, Kuami Eugene, Guiltybeatz etc, and are working hard on becoming the glue between UK and Ghana afrobeats scene.
