Stella Damasus reacts to secret wedding reports

Nollywood actress , Stella Damasus has reacted to reports that she is secretly married to Nigerian film maker, Daniel Ademinokan. She responded to what she termed as a day of gossip, scandals and all sorts on her blog, stella-damasus.blogspot.com/. She wrote:

I have Been trending for the past two days now. Day one was about people wishing me well and praying for me on my birthday. Day two is now filled with gossip, scandals and all sorts, but that is as far as the so called journalists and bloggers are concerned. As far as I am concerned I had a blast on my birthday and I will not allow other human beings steal my joy regardless. I choose to enjoy my life because I know I deserve it. Nobody went through my own trying times with me and I did not go through any with others. When God decides to bless me, turn my mourning to dancing, turn my tears to laughter and turn my anger to happiness, no man on earth can change it or spoil it. Truth is, I laughed when I saw some of the blogs and websites quoting and saying things they know absolutely nothing about. Writing things they have heard without concrete evidence, ghosts that cannot show their faces and ask direct questions. But they believe and think that they can wake up one day and decide people’s fate and destiny. Unfortunately they are made to feel important because people hate to read positive things and achievements, but give them juicy gossip and all of a sudden you become the most popular writer who has gist on everybody. I realized that when I write blogs and articles about important information, encouragement, education and positive things, only twenty percent out of a hundred actually read it and leave comments. The other eighty percent jump at the gossip and scandals and then start to ask me stupid questions. These are people who have not communicated with me in ages but all of a sudden they feel the need to profess undying friendship and a listening ear. The fact that they believe I have the time or energy to respond to the most trivial issues baffles me. Let me repeat myself in case some of these people missed it. “I really do not care what you say or write, the truth is who God has blessed no man can curse” , and if you believe that trying to turn a wonderful birthday into a global gossip game will make me feel bad then I am so sorry this Stella is not as stupid as you think”

It was reported that the actress and the movie producer/director, who was married to actress Doris Simeon until 2011, got married sometime in February this year in New York. They now live together in a place called Jamaica Village, Queens, New York. Heard they might have temporarily relocated to the US. Stella is there with her two kids who are now schooling there. This is the third marriage for Stella and the second for Daniel. The two have several investments together, including Abuja based clothing boutique, Code 55. Last night April 24th, Daniel held a surprise 35th birthday party for Stella at a restaurant called 9ja Villa in Brooklyn, New York. Former First Lady, Theresa Kufuor passes on

Media reports indicate that former First Lady Theresa Kufuor is dead.

Mrs Kufuor, nee Mensah, is reported to have passed away on Sunday, October 1.

She served as the First Lady of Ghana from January 7, 2001 to January 6, 2009.

She assumed the role after her husband succeeded Jerry John Rawlings as the President of the Republic of Ghana.

While serving as First Lady, Madam Theresa set up the Mother to Child Community Development Foundation to help in the proper development of children and prevent mother-to-child transmission of diseases.

Dynamic Ghanaian gospel musician, Prophet Joseph Atarah has once again proven he is on a rising trajectory in his music career.

The gospel musician who also doubles as a Man of God, this year grabbed a coveted award at the Ghana Music Awards-Europe event held in France recently.

The Ghana Music Awards-Europe is largely a people’s choice awards scheme that seeks to champion and expand the development of the Ghanaian music industry beyond the country’s borders.

At the ceremony held in France, the video of the Woye Odo song which featured Piesie Esther won Best Music Video of the Year.

Speaking to the media on the feat chalked, Prophet Atarah expressed his appreciation to all those who voted for him to make this possible.

He said such acknowledgement pushes him to do more and save lives through his ministry. Prophet Atarah also commended Piesie Esther for the collaboration and delivery on the song.

Additionally, he thanked Skyweb for directing and shooting the video which has won many awards over the period.

Since climbing onto the music scene three years ago, Prophet Atarah has won numerous awards and nominations.

Prophet Atarah earlier in the year released ‘Adom Nyame’ and is preparing to release a new project.

The journey commenced in Accra on Saturday, September 9, at the prestigious Alliance Française. The event served as a platform for showcasing the immense talent residing in Ghana’s Upper East region. Reality TV Star, Chinenyenwa ‘Chichi’ Okoebor sits with Chude Jideonwo, host of #WithChude, to discuss how she grew up alone after her father passed, the fight at the Big Brother Reunion, how she had to go into stripping for survival, and the journey to forgiving her mother.

Chichi shared about defending herself at the reunion. “What people don’t know is that I grew up alone, and I literallyraised myself. There is nothing that I have not faced in life before now, the worst things that could happen to a girl child happened to me and the last time I checked, I won. My mindset for coming to the reunion was to go and clear many things that were said about me. People have the mindset that I don’t mingle, but I think I am just overprotective and that is the part they have refused to see. Whenever I am vulnerable, they see me as the weak link they can poke on. Whenever this happens in the house, it is not because I cannot react, it is that I am scared of myself that if I react I am going to get disqualified. I saw the show as a pathway to upliftment, so I told myself, ‘Chi calm down’. People thought I was shy and, in my shell, but I was just protective of myself and of the show which was important”.

“After the reunion, I was depressed. For a very long time, I deactivated my socials. Even now sometimes I am on, and sometimes I am off. It is not easy for me, I manage every situation by myself. Sometimes I just want to sit back and take it one step at a time so I won’t lose my mind. I went for the reunion to clear things out and make peace. When I saw that they were just coming for me, I was like, ‘These people, you don’t know me o. I can stand up for myself, I can talk it out”, she added.

Speaking further on the fallout between her and Phyna, she shared, “The way Phyna came felt so scripted for me because she was asked a question, and she said, ‘your mama died, you have silicone on brain in your boobies’. Why did she have to go that far? Also, there is a difference between Silicon and BBL. I feel like she had already planned it. I was dumbfounded. She started saying things that weren’t true– saying things like I was married, and I had kids. People think because we were roomies one week before the lockdown, I told her all those things. First, we never had such a discussion, what we always discussed was what we were going to do on the show, how wewere going to be besties and defend each other’. The other thing was that she asked if I got my body done that she would like to and all that. And I told her that we will discuss it after the show. Many people think that we werepallies or friends before the show, but it wasn’t true. I had met her but we have never said ‘hi’ to each other.”

On life before Big Brother Naija, Chi Chi shared, “Before I went on the show, I remember telling the organizers that Idon’t know which of them picked me, but whoever that person is, God bless that person. I remember telling them that one of my reasons for going to the Big Brother Naija house was to make Nigerians know that stripping does not make you a whore. It’s just another means of making quick money. You don’t really have to sleep around to make money as a stripper or an exotic dancer. I wanted Nigerians to also relate with strippers and their lifestyle. I don’t know if I was able to achieve that, but I’m a homely girl. If you actually watch the show, you will understand that I’m not perfect. I can be a badass. I have never for once thought about what people will start saying. Because when I used to think of that, I was a nobody, until I started thinking less of that and started working hard. So, I wanted Nigerians to relate to my life and maybe at some point, the life of a stripper. To understand that this is actually a profession. Someone can be a stripper, and she can also make a good home.

Chichi also shared how she had suffered several mishaps as a girl child, and how she never felt loved. She mentioned that after her father passed at a young age, she moved in with her father’s best friend from where she had to run after a while. She also spoke about learning to forgive her mum, whom she said never really lookedfor her, and how that can be difficult whenever she imagined how life would have been different for her, if her mum was in the picture.
