Ghanaian Reggae and Dancehall artist, Stonebwoy has revisited the clash he had with Shatta Wale at the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

Speaking on The Breakfast Club on New York-based radio station Power FM, Stonebwoy revealed that he had won the Reggae/Dancehall artist award for the fifth time in a row and Shatta Wale couldn’t take it so he had to climb the stage and attack.

‘‘I was picking up my award for winning the reggae dancehall artist for the fifth time in a row and I think he couldn’t take it so he had to swim to the stage, he came with a lot of people, I was about to give my speech when he disrupted the whole live thing, and it was very chaotic and well dangerous.

‘‘And you know from the streets, he’s from the streets and I’m from the streets, it really got there,’’ he disclosed.

Stonebwoy further stated that he is naturally quick to react to certain things that are not normal.

‘‘Naturally I’m quickly defensive, so what it was is that, we’ve been having this beef for years and I don’t even know where its stemming from but interestingly, that is how that brother move, moved around that period attacking everybody to step on stage to do that was not something we were going to accept and if he came alone, could probably, but he came with the gang storming on the stage and we’ve been always ready.

‘‘Guess what it was is that, security came over, covered the whole scene and then separated the vibe and they escorted me home and then later on the news was, spread the vibes of there been, but there were weapons involved,’’ he said.

After the altercation during the 2019 edition, Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale were banned from participating in the VGMAs indefinitely.
