It will be a cheerful Sunday for gospel musicians Cwesi Oteng and Mathew Ansah as well as their fans as the two encage their audiences with spirit filled activities in Accra this weekend.

Ghana Gospel Industry Awards winner for New Artist of the Year and Africa Gospel Awards nominee, Cwesi Oteng will stage another grand concert this Sunday, from 4pm at the auditorium of the Charismatic Evangelistic Ministry (CEM), around Atomic Junction, North Legon. The concert forms part of his build up concerts towards the launch of one of the most anticipated gospel music albums in Africa, Cwesi’s ‘Mercy Project’ album.

The concert is expected to bring both young and old under one roof to lift up highest praise and worship in a unique way. Other ministers on the bill alongside Cwesi Oteng & his Flo Riva Inc & Fusion Crew include Calvis Hammond (Joyful Way Incorporated), Denzel and HeartBeatMusic, PL Crew, Kofi Karikari (Nii Okai’s Virtuous fame) and a surprise from University of Ghana, Wisconsin University and Institute of Professional Studies (IPS).

Newcomer, Matthew Ansah will launch his maiden album, ‘Atmosphere of Praise’ in a spectacular fashion at the Lord’s Tabernacle branch of ICGC, Abofu Achimota, at 3pm. Matthew is a promising contemporary gospel musician who believes in not just singing but spirit-filled ministration. His maiden album has soul inspiring songs such as “Yahweh, Thank you, Do Awurade” together with a high Praise medley. The 7-track album features Jeshurun Okyere, Baaba Enning and Sylvia Coomson and is on the Cross Recordz label, which is a new record company seeking to unveil African talents in Contemporary Gospel Music. Prior to working on the album, Matthew released a single in January 2011 titled “W’adom” which received heavy airplay and was part of Citi FM-First Capital Plus Single of the Month Promotion.

Matthew Ansah affectionately called “Jaja” by his peers began singing since his childhood days in the Apostolic Church through to his high school days at Mfantsipim School. He was a member of Joyful Way Incorporated (JWI) and part of the pioneers of the JWI phase II in 2003. He has been on church missions, village outreaches, and crusades and seeks to continue with more outreach in educational institutions and rural communities to touch lives; evangelism through music is his focus. The guest ministers to grace the album launch include Pastor Joe Beecham, Joe Mettle and other anointed ministers.
