The Black Star Line Festival was the largest Concert In The History Of Ghana- Chance The Rapper

Grammy-award winning American rapper, Chance the Rapper has asserted that his inaugural Black Star Line Festival in January, 2023 is the biggest festival to be held in the country.

The rapper, in an interview on the Tonight Show with Fallon, stated that performances by  Erykah Badu, T Pain, Vic Mensah, Sarkodie among a host of others at the event was magical.

He explained that, “It was very successful, the Black Star Line Fest was magical. 52,000 people showed up, the largest concert in the history of Ghana and it was way deeper than trying to do a festival in Ghana.”

According to the Grammy Award winner, “It was an opportunity for Black people from around the world to get together and commune safely and like have some good music.”

The ‘no problem’ hitmaker disclosed that the concert will be replicated in Kingston, Jamaica, and other destinations across the world in subsequent editions.

“I am actually looking to do it again in January, myself and Vic Mensa, looking to do it again, we are actually thinking about hosting the next one in Kingston, Jamaica,” he emphasized.

In the words of Chance, “We are still working it out in our head and we love the city of Accra, Ghana, and West Africa as a whole and we want to just continue to create community spaces and not make it such like stagnant thing so we are just looking any country that wants to host us.”
