Chief Executive Officer (C.E.O) of Black Avenue, D-Black has joined the list of people in the creative industry who have called on the government to invest in the creative sector.

According o D-Black, promises have been made by government to help push the sector, however, none of these promises have been fulfilled.

“This is one of the most important things that I feel like the Ministry of Tourism, Art and Culture and the government as a whole should look at. It is really important. Promises have been made years over and we really haven’t seen much happen but the eye is on Ghana now and I feel like the time is now,” he said in recent interview on Joy Prime’s ‘Celeb Biz.’

The rapper cum businessman, also bemoaned the lack of structures and leadership from institutions such as the MUSIGA (Musicians Union of Ghana) and GHAMRO (Ghana Music Rights Organization).

“MUSIGA as a body is in court. There’s no leader. It’s just a mess. I feel like those systems need to be put in place to overlook the rights of Ghanaian creatives not only in the music scene but also in the movie industry as well.

“If I’m to speak bluntly, I will say that the structures that are in place for our music industry are terrible. GAMRO is a terrible organization. There’s no accountability. I don’t know how much I’ve made from GAMRO in my 13 years in the music industry,” he added.
