Ghanaian rapper, Ruth Eno Adjoa Amankwah Nyame Adom, better known as Eno Barony, has revealed how members of her church prayed against her music career.

Raised in a strongly Christian home, Eno’s choice of career was strongly abhorred, to the extent  that her photo was shown to the congregation, who prayed against her particular skill because they felt it was not of God.

In an interview with Asieduwaa Akumia on Prime Morning, she stated that her church members believed she was possessed and that her music was demonic.

“I remember they put my picture in the church and prayed over it that my music wouldn’t work and that nothing would work for me,” she explained.

Regarding her relationship with her family, specifically her father, she stated that everything is wonderful between them.

“We’re cool, but it wasn’t easy at first because convincing their parents to be a rapper is difficult for boys, let alone a girl,” she said.

The hip-hop rapper went on to explain how she fled her home to pursue a music career.

She admitted, “I was initially concealing it. At first, I kept it hidden. I hid it until I couldn’t anymore because I was on TV and everywhere, and it became an issue. I had no choice but to flee the house.”

Despite the fact that she couldn’t listen to secular music at home, she aspired to be a rapper, and was heavily influenced by Mzbel and Abrewa Nana.

Eno Barony is currently out with a new single, “Don’t Judge Me” featuring the son of Archbishop Duncan Williams, Daniel Duncan Williams, popularly known as Deewillz.
