Tiwa Savage Announces Debut North America Tour

Nigerian-born ‘Queen of Afrobeats’ Tiwa Savage, today announced her first headlining tour of North America, ‘Water & Garri’. Tiwa Savage will be performing across 17 North American cities, starting in New York on May 15, and closing out in Toronto on June 19. Tiwa’s tour announcement follows up the 2021 release of her Water & Garri EP, which features the likes of Nas, Brandy, and Amaarae among others. The Water & Garri EP is Tiwa’s first project since 2020’s critically acclaimed album Celia.
Tiwa Savage comments – “It’s crazy to believe but this is actually my first North American tour! I’ve had so much love from my US fans so I’m super excited to come and play there”
The most followed female African artist on social media, Savage has a unique talent for fusing afrobeat, r&b, soul and pop sounds and as a result effortlessly taps into audiences all over the world. She has conquered the charts of her home country and carved out a huge reputation for herself globally. From being the first female to win Best African Act at the MTV European Music Awardsto being crowned one of the Most Inspirational Women by US fashion bible Vogue, there is no doubt that Savage is changing the global face of music and is a trailblazer of African music worldwide. Savage has an extensive and impressive portfolio. In addition to being hand-picked by Beyonce to co-write a song for the soundtrack to The Lion King: The Gift, Savage had already worked closely with the likes of Whitney Houston, Chaka Khan, Frank Ocean, Mary J. Blidge, and Kelly Clarkson by the time that she started her solo career in the early 2010s.
Tiwa Savage’s is being produced by Duke Concept; the leading Afro-Caribbean live events and touring company in North America. Duke Concept’s touring roster has included the likes of Burna Boy, Davido, Wizkid, Fireboy, Joeboy and more. Duke Concept is the obvious producer for the Queen of Afrobeats as she takes on the US in this forthcoming tour.
Public on-sale for the Tiwa Savage tour starts Friday, March 25 at 10am local time.
