Tributes from Ghanaian actors pour in as they mourn the death of Ekow Blankson

On Monday, October 3, Ghanaians woke up to the news of the demise of veteran actor, Ekow Blankson.

 

Ekow Blankson, who was the Commercial Manager of the well-known online news portal Ghanaweb, left to be with his Lord at the age of 50.

The news has taken his colleagues in the entertainment industry by surprise and many have used their social media platforms to express their heartbreak over his death.

Gloria Sarfo, who called Ekow her boss, shared a very long tribute, detailing how much of an impact he had on her life and career.

“My Boss as I affectionately called you🤦‍♀️You gave me a lot!!! You taught me a lot!!! You did a lot for me!!! You started with me so many years ago with product sampling!!! Right from your Coca cola days!!! And then MUSIC MUSIC at TV3!!! TV AFRICA , the list is ENDLESS😫,” she shared on Instagram.

“You still tried your possible best to pull me along wherever you went!!!
You mentioned and lobbied for me with almost every project you were involved in!!! You were always happy to see my progress and still assured me of greater things to come!!! My Boss!!! The last time I told you about my issues, you encouraged me and said; “Hmmm everyone is fighting a battle Gloria, so take very care of yourself and pray, God is a faithful God”. We shall overcome! Hmmmm I feel guilty right now, because I should have celebrated you better, apart from appreciating you to people , in my interviews, in my social media posts, and accordingly you the needful respect anytime we met,” she adds.

“🙈 I wished to do more!!!To celebrate you!! To honour you!! God knows!!! I always wondered what best I could do celebrate you better!!! But like I said, only God knows😫 You didn’t wait for me Boss!!! My Boss!!!! Rest Well😭😭😭. LET’S NOT JUST CELEBRATE THEM!!! LETS CARE FOR THEM ALSO🙏😫 I’m broken💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔,” she concluded.

Prince David Osei who could not believe the news, also shared a brief statement;

“Damn so broken unbelievable!! We go rep London this December that was our last conversation, you announced the news of my nomination for Nelas Award to me and was delighted we were both nominated … Hmmm no one is indeed promised tomorrow 🙏.. Rest Well Boss Man 🕊,” he wrote.

Beverly Afaglo, who had spoken to the late actor a few days before his demise expressed shock at the news.
“Words fail me Ekow 😭😭😭😭 we spoke few days ago and u sounded perfect, what happened? Ei this life 💔💔💔💔💔 Can’t believe I’m writing RIP to u 😭😭,” she wrote on IG. 

A very heartbroken Roselyn Ngissah also shared a photo of Ekow with the caption;

“R.I.P EKOW BLANKSON”

John Dumelo was not left out. The actor cum farmer extended his condolences via a tweet.

“RIP Mr Ekow Blankson. Rest well sir,” he tweeted.
