Speaking at the event on the importance of innovation, Abiola Bawuah, Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer of UBA Africa expressed what a significant innovation it was in the history of UBA and banking when she was selected as the first ever woman to be C.E.O.

“In 2013 it was a strange idea for a woman to be C.E.O in Ghana. To be given the opportunity as a female is innovation by our group Chairman. After I was given the opportunity, I remember a lot of banks followed suit in Ghana. What has happened in UBA is complete innovation, changing the status quo, providing opportunities for the girl child,” she stated.
