Viasat1 boss signs book of condolence as the network plans live broadcast President Mills’ funeral service
The Chief Executive Officer of Viasat1 Ghana, Charlotte Gustavsson, on Monday August 6, 2012, signed the Book of Condolence in honour of late President John Evans Atta Mills.Shortly after the signing at the International Conference Centre, Charlotte Gustavsson told the media that it was with great sadness that she heard of the news of President Mills’ demise. She was out of the country when she received the news, with shock, that the sitting president passed away. “I was out of the country when the news broke, and upon return yesterday (Sunday), I thought it appropriate to come here to pay my respect, on my own behalf and on behalf of Viasat1 Ghana, and also to sign the book of condolence. “On behalf of the Staff and Management of Viasat1 Ghana, I wish to extend my deepest condolence to the wife of late President Mills, Doctor Mrs. Naadu Mills, the family, and the entire people of Ghana ,” she said. Charlotte Gustavsson disclosed that Viasat1 Ghana is making preparations to broadcast the funeral and burial service of the late President Mills, adding that there will be a special coverage and extension of Viasat1 primetime News from 7:30pm – 8:30pm, from Wednesday August 8 to Sunday August 12, in honour of the late president. She also noted that on Saturday August and Sunday, Viasat1 will bring to viewers updates on the funeral and burial service from midday to 12:30pm. The CEO, who was accompanied by Programmes Manager Frank Norteye, was glad that the state had held a smooth transition of presidency to Mr. John Dramani Mahama, and hoped that the nation will continue to be peaceful.]]>
