Jacob Nana Kwame Etroo, musically known as (Quata) Budukusu, was born in Accra, Ghana. He attended Airport Police Primary and Junior High School, in Accra and proceeded to Aggrey Memorial Zion Senior Secondaryschool, Cape Coast, Ghana. After his senior high school, Budukusu took a professional course in sound engineering.

Budukusu started his musical career by combining Root African vibes and the native Twi language. He is regarded as the fastest rapper in Ghana, the inventor of tonguetwisting in Twi, super accomplished songwriter, and themost versatile artiste who does every genre of musicentirely. Budukusu can rap, sing, do dancehall, pop music, and much more.

Budukusu is very fluent in English and Twi composition that brands him as an international artiste. In 2004, Budukusu released his debut album, WONIE, that took over Ghana with a traditional video that went viral on Channel O. He immediately became a household name with all the hit songs he featured onwards. His collaborations include K.K. Fosu’s OGA, Tinny’s ALETSE, and composed MAKOMA MU TOFFEE for Tinny. He alsocomposed MzBel’s TURN ME ON, featured on Becca’s YOU LIED TO ME high life mix, and featured on J.A. Adofo’s MENKO M’NIGYE.

Budukusu’s INDEPENDENCE album had hit songs, BABY (the first English and Twi pop song) and PRETTY FACE, featuring VIP. The launch of the album became the biggest in the history of Hiplife music in Ghana.  Budukusu is the first rap artiste Kojo Antwi, the maestro, featured on ESU NKETSENKETSE from his SEBO album. Budukusu is like a phantom presence felt to the fullest yet invisible.

In Twi, English and Jamaican Patois, Budukusu brings words to life with his rhymes, rhythms, melodies and tongue-twisting rap skill and broad composition, the one word for Budukusu is MUSIC. Budukusu’s ability to combine both English and Twi Language, as well as his flawless look and swag, makes him a brand that will stand and represent any company very well.

On August of 2017, Budukusu released Quantum Riddim (his first album under Bakus Records) distributed by VPAL music, the distribution wing of VP records. Quantum Riddim is a 13-tracked album delivered on just a single beat. The release of Quantum Riddim was historic since no one has ever recorded 13 songs using the same beat/riddim.
