WATCH: Ghanaian filmmaker Kuukua Eshun and Wizkid create short film for Grammy nominated ‘Made In Lagos’ album

Afrobeat star, Wizkid has teamed up with award-winning Ghanaian filmmaker, Kuukua Eshun to create a short film for his ‘Made In Lagos’ album.

The vibrant visual ignites the new tracks featured on the deluxe edition of the critically acclaimed LP – ‘Anoti,’ ‘Steady,’ and ‘Mood.’

Bursting with color, the 10-minute production illuminates the brilliance embedded in Wiz’s newest jams – which collectively join hits such as ‘Ginger’ and global smash ‘Essence’ featuring Tems. The latter of which has been nominated at the upcoming 2022 GRAMMYs, alongside its housing album.

The film was directed by Kuukua Eshun and Big Wiz himself.

Kuukua Eshun is one of the fast-rising young female directors based in Ghana. Having worked with artists and platforms like; Michaela Coel, Vic Mensa, Huawei, Facebook, Variety Magazine, Lifetime TV, The Economist, etc. Kuukua Eshun has built a legacy of telling stories that express strength and dominance through accessing spaces of feeling, sensitivity and dichotomous human experiences in her work.

She recently released her film “Unveiling”, a powerful rape documentary created due to two women being vulnerable with each other—unveiling their truths allowing each to see herself in the other. This film was commissioned by the ANO Institute of Arts & Knowledge and was first shown at the Museum Ostwall Im Dortmunder U On December 10th and would be showing till March 6th. This same museum has works of the famous Pablo Picasso and celebrated Ghanaian artist El Anatsui.
