Watch: Nana Ama McBrown shares more details of her 8-year IVF journey

Ghanaian actress, Nana Ama McBrown is still sharing some intricate details of her journey to having a baby.

According to her, she’s always wanted a baby since age 23, but it never happened for her until 2 years ago when she welcomed her first baby, Maxine.

Sharing new details of her journey in an interview on We Got This Africa with Naa Ashorkor, the award-winning actress revealed she had to resort to IVF treatment in order to get pregnant.

“I started the treatment again mainly about 8 years ago. Maxin (her daughter) is almost 3 years now. The last 8 years have been more intense. They’ll tell you they need to wash your womb,” she told Naa.

Even before she started her IVF treatment, Nana Ama McBrown also revealed she had to wash her womb six times.

“I washed my womb for about six times. And the six times I had already done some in 2006. I realised after the sixth time that it wasn’t working for me,” she shared.

She continued;

“However, when I started the IVF, it took about 8 months to get pregnant and that is because I had fibroid and they had to take it out.

Nana Ama shared her first attempt at the IVF treatment failed, which took an emotional toll on her, however, her second try came out positive.
