WATCH: Rap in Paper presents Amaarae – No Vex

Amaarae, is a Ghanaian singer, songwriter, producer and one of the key players in Africa’s fast growing
alternative music sub-genre, Alte.
She expresses a breadth of experiences through her music, androgynous style, and sensual lyricism; all
traits that are a call for young Africans, to challenge the societal norms placed on them.
In 2017, she released her debut EP Passionfruit Summers, and has since collaborated with Kojey
Radical, Santi, Odunsi, and Nigerian legend Wande Coal on the hit song, Like It.
No Vex, is her unreleased offering to the rap in paper platform. Sweet and sultry tones glide us through
this melodic freestyle delivered over the Yinoluu produced beat. With her seamless combination of
pidgin and english, Amaarae flexes her versatility and shows why she’s one to watch from the emerging
Alte scene in 2020 and beyond.
The first video from the Rap in Paper Ghana. Rap in paper is an alternative freestyle platform connecting the worlds of music and print design, bringing visual and musical artists together to showcase their gifts.
