WATCH: Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale VGMA ban still in effect – Charterhouse CEO

Organizers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs), Charterhouse has finally spoken about Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy’s indefinite ban ahead of this year’s event


As part of the build-up towards the 21st Edition of the VGMAs slated for the month of May, selected members of the Board and other stakeholders engaged various arms of the industry in a series of dialogues and interactions aimed at improving the scheme for this year and beyond.

At a media engagement held at the Alisa Hotel yesterday, the CEO, Theresa Ayoade addressed concerns from various media persons about the fate of dancehall artistes Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale.

The two acts were stripped of all the awards they won at the 20th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards and
banned indefinitely from the award scheme.

According to her, the new board of the award scheme will make the final decision on the future of the two musicians but as it stands, the ban is in full effect.

It was also revealed that the VGMA board has received over 500 submissions for the 2020 edition.
