Watch: We will keep casting old actors – Kofi Asamoah.

Ghanaian movie producer and director Kofi Asamoah of KOFAS Media has defended his reasons for using “old faces” in most of his movie.

Speaking at the press conference of his new partnered project with Old films ‘AWAY BUS’, the award-winning director expressed disappointment in calls my Ghanaian movie critics for the use of new faces and fresh acts in the movies.

According to him, it is economically not safe for a production house to have an all fresh cast film as less people will be interested in sponsoring or patronizing it.

“The problem in this country is that when people in the act grow slightly older then we begin to want to kick them out of the industry. How will they fend for themselves? It will mean that we’ll stop having old men and women in our industry which is currently the case. Some of us will not watch these things happen and so until you stop watching the films we make with the stars we will continue making them. We will continue supporting our old stars and the legends who held the industry in its early stages.” he said.

The film, Away Bus, according to the producers will start from Friday, March 22 and will last for 14 days. Renowned actors part of the yet-to-be-shot movie include Agya Koo, Yvonne Okoro, Salma Mumin, John Dumelo, Abeiku Santana, Tracey Boakye, Moesha Boduong, Rosemond Brown, Fella Makafui, Akrobteo, Master Richard, Umar Krupp, Ahuofe Patri, and many others.
