Shot on location in the UK, a young man (Neil Tattersall) is bewitched and seduced by an African temptress (Wiyaala). The action takes place in historical times.
The Upper West musician said: “I love being an independent artiste with my own label because it allows me to express my art the way I want to do it. I can do fun ragga dancehall songs like Rock My Body or be more serious like in Africa. Leno is more about the romantic side of life.”
“Leno”, written and composed by Wiyaala, is the third single to be released from her eponymous album. It is distributed on the Djimba World Records label by JTV Digital in Paris and is available on iTunes and all digital platforms worldwide. The music video is a Djimba World Production, directed by Charlotte Appleton, shot on location in East Yorkshire and in the historic city of York in the UK.
Wiyaala is a singer/songwriter from the Upper West of Ghana who first came to attention in 2013 with her single Make Me Dance which featured Ghana’s first ever scenes shot under water. Wiyaala is currently the Best VGMA Female Vocalist and Songwriter of The Year. She is also Ghana’s most nominated and awarded artiste at Afrima Awards, a Pan-African awards scheme which features more than 2500 entries by artistes from 84 African countries.
