What to Know About Moving to Toronto

Published

on

Toronto

Toronto is an extraordinarily popular city, with residents proudly proclaiming that it’s the best place to live compared to any other.  Many consider moving to Toronto, but the town has a surprisingly low rate of people who stay for longer than a month.  If you’re interested in moving out to Hog Town, here are five of the most important things to consider when moving!

It’s an Expensive Place to Live

This fact may seem obvious, especially since it’s the largest city in the country, but many forget how expensive Toronto can be.  From the food you eat, the entertainment you enjoy, to the concerts you party at real estate in Toronto is just as expensive.

Although you can find less expensive homes if you travel outside of the city for a few minutes, that’s no longer Toronto. So instead, if you want to live in the city, it’s a good idea to live in an apartment with several roommates so that you can save up enough to buy a home eventually.

This City Is More Multicultural Than Any Other

Toronto is often touted as the most diverse city on Earth.  Although this may seem like a bizarre thing to quantify, it means that Toronto works hard to be welcoming and open to people of any background.  This is to be celebrated, ensuring that you’ll have a wide range of experiences every day that build up who you are and how you view the city.

The Art and Music Scene Changes Frequently

Toronto doesn’t have one personality pinned down because it has so much variance and interest in it.  Every four to six years, the city seems to shift in nature.  Although this can be strange for those used to cities having a static personality, it’s a good way to ensure you never get bored of living there and getting to know the city.

The Transit is More Reliable Than Other Cities

Transit is infamously bad in most cities.  From the awful reviews about Detroit’s bus lines to how long people have to wait in Victoria, BC, people are used to terrible public transit for the ferry to show up.  Fortunately, getting to live in Toronto means enjoying better public transit and better speed at getting around. In addition, this city understands that the fewer people driving to work, the fewer cars on the road and in the way.  So, Toronto invests in better city infrastructure and public transportation for everyone.

There Are Countless Jobs Available

Thanks to its extensive technological background, and the number of animation and art studios, Toronto is full of an incredible range of jobs. So if you’re worried you’d get bored in one line of work, there’s another available that you can get introduced to.  Although this can be overwhelming and can leave people skipping between many jobs until they find the right one, it’s a great way to get the chance to find your true passion.

Toronto is unlike any other city on Earth, so it should be on everyone’s list for the top places to move!

What we call the ANOINTING is deliberately nurtured and cultivated. We have to build a place for GOD; a system for GOD to use; you can’t just out of the moment pull up anything and say GOD use it. We have to prepare for HIM and so we take time to prepare. “ (more…)
