African streaming and TV platform, Wi-flix, has announced partnerships with three leading content providers to further deepen its content play to enrich the viewing experience of its rapidly growing subscriber base with the most exciting content available on demand.
The streaming service, launched earlier this month, is partnering with Trace TV, MediaGuru with presence in India, UAE, Singapore and South Africa Rushlake Media GmbH with presence in Kenya and France; Forest Media in Nigeria and 4stye TV in Ghana to offer subscribers a total entertainment package comprising movies, and live TV.

In addition to the thousands of hours of movies on Wi-flix, subscribers now have access to their favourite TV shows anywhere, anytime”.

This couldn’t have come at a better time”.
“We’re excited to partner with Wi-flix to offer subscribers a dedicated channel showcasing the very best of Urban music from all genres from across the globe.” said Danny Mucira, Managing Director Trace East Africa. With a clear understanding of the consumption habits of global viewers, MediaGuru identifies what kind of content performs well, what generates a buzz and what kind of content appeals to the masses. For us, it is critical to understand the intricacies of the real digital opportunity and the positioning that is best suited for each organization. We are proud of MediaGuru & Wi-flix partnership; Together delivering premium value content to people of Africa and the World”.
Wi-flix announced the launch of these partnerships with a free 3-day access to all new subscribers. To access the platform visit www.wi-flix.com to sign up or visit the Play Store and the App Store to download the app.

Your clientele can continue watching their favourite shows/channels whenever they are on the road for business or stop by your office, hotel, or pub. DStv For Business has a tailored package to suit your business size and pocket so you can have the best working moments with DStv.”

According to the Managing Director, MultiChoice Ghana, Alex Okyere, the business is all about the customer’s experience, and the greatest motivation for his team is to offer more value for money to not just our domestic users but commercial users.
DStv For Business has three main offers; DStv Work, DStv Play and DStv Stay. Each package is tailored to suit the needs of offices, bars, clubs, restaurants, hotels and so on. The essence of this, Kelvin Kamasa explains, is to tailor content to specific customers to enhance their viewing experience. Instead of having to watch a wide array of content, these DStv For Business packages now give you what you want based on business customers’ needs and preferences.
The DStv Work package offers the latest news headlines from around the world, sports, weather updates and other work-related entertainment. The goal here is to set the tone for a stimulating work environment and keep everyone well informed. The Work packages are best suited for offices, banks, and other corporate organizations.
The DStv Play packages are best suited for businesses such as pubs, restaurants, bars, clubs, café, and betting houses. These packages enhance the guest’s experience and ensure that they are always entertained with their favourite sports programmes and other first-class entertainment.
The DStv Stay packages are suited for hotels, motels, lodges, resorts, Air BnB’s and serviced apartments. Giving each guest whether a kid, adult or elderly a memorable in-room experience during their stay.
One important feature is that these packages they can be tailored to customers’ budget. This means that customers can enjoy entertainment at a certain threshold which is a unique offer. For less than Ghs 170, one can enjoy several channels. For instance, the DStv Stay (Basic), offers customers an array of entertainment with more than ten channels spanning sports, news, kiddies’ channel, and music with just GHs77.
Businesses also have the flexibility of choosing a package that perfectly suits your business model without worrying about not having the popular channels needed by customers. From small entrepreneurs to 5-star hotels, multinational corporations and government agencies, every business has something that works for them.
For hotels, their customers get a mix of carefully selected movies, music, and sports channels as well as documentary channels. This is the same for a financial establishment where customers are more concerned about the latest updates from the financial sector and latest news over that of a music or movie channel like Akwaaba Magic Abusua and ROK Gh. Similarly, fast-food joints, pubs and clubs will be in tune with Trace Jama, Akwaaba Magic, SuperSports channels over National Geographic Channel or News channels.

To ensure the best customer experience while pushing Ghana’s transition from analogue to digital transmission, GOtv began operations in January 2013 with the DVB-T2 decoder a second-generation technology regarded as one of the most advanced broadcast infrastructures globally and approved by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) as the standard for digital television broadcasting. GOtv was the first DTT provider in Ghana to use this infrastructure.
Asides from delivering a higher number of channels 20 per frequency when compared to DVB-T1 technology which allows 12 channels per frequency DVB-T2 technology gives access to free-to-air channels on the expiration of one’s subscription and delivers a far superior digital, audio-visual quality, all for the viewing pleasure of its customers at extremely affordable rates.
GOtv also has an Enhanced Decoder Notification (EDN) function which keeps subscribers abreast of information such as number of viewing days left before the next payment, latest special offers and discounts, campaigns, information on new content and upcoming celebrations to improve their viewing experience.
Tech innovations such as the MyGOtv app allows customers to use several self-service options to quickly resolve issues such as clearing error codes, checking account balance, subscription renewal, package change, etc., without having to physically visit a GOtv office.
Other self-service platforms by GOtv to resolve issues instantly for improved customer experience include the *759# USSD code; payment options such as mobile money services and bank apps; GOtv’ s social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram) and the GOtv website; and a self-registration platform via a USSD string *759#.
Furthermore, in line with the company’s customer-centric tradition at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic presented over $100,000 dollars of PPEs to Ga East Hospital in Accra, the Okomfo Ankoye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi and the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital in Cape Coast in September and October 2020.
During this period GOtv Ghana introduced the ‘We’ve Got you’ offer to cushion customer from harsh economic effect of the pandemic on its subscribers.
During the lockdown period active and disconnected GOtv subscribers enjoyed discounts plus got upgraded to the next viewing package when they resubscribed for their current package so customers and their families during the lockdown could stay edutained.
In its usual way of keeping the family bond together with top quality entertaining content, on the 1st of November 2021, GOtv brought more lifestyle and entertainment channels/content from DStv to its GOtv subscribers with the introduction of a new package known as GOtv SUPA.
