Speaking at the official launch 2023 edition, Nana Aba Anamoah revealed that the Women of Valour project was an idea that came to fruition after ten years of planning.

‘‘It is an idea I have been mauling over ten years, and people who know me truly well know that I am a big fan of procrastination, not because I am lazy, but because I like to think and think thoroughly through an idea. And so, for ten years, every single year before international women’s day, I tell myself maybe it is time to do Women of Valour and sometimes comes up and I change my mind,’’ she said.
