The wait is finally over! The X-Factor is back on DStv and promises to be both unforgettable and unexpected. With two new judges and the ever-unapologetic Simon Cowell who America loves to hate, viewers can expect nothing less! In this second season, teen sensation Demi Lovato and pop icon Britney Spears, join veteran judges Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid in their search for an out-of-this-world 12 years old or over talent, both solo artists and vocal groups. Tune into M-Net (DStv Channel 101/102) from Saturday 6 October at 19:00 CAT to see which contestants are bold enough to face the superstar panel and the fifth judge, the audience of thousands, whom they have to win over during the audition or face the boot!

Rob (Premiere): Meeting the in-laws is always a daunting thought but it’s even worse when meeting them after you have already married their daughter as DStv viewers will witness in this new series. Rob just married into a tight-knit Mexican-American family. He is a successful landscape architect who, after a whirlwind romance, marries Maggie, a beautiful, smart book translator who is way out of his league. After eloping in Las Vegas, Maggie and Rob must break the news to her overprotective, judgmental parents, Rosa and Fernando, that they are married. Shocked by news that they’ve eloped, the family remains sceptical of Maggie’s choice for a husband, with the exception of her uncle Hector, the black sheep of the family, who immediately declares himself Rob’s best friend. Rob hopes he will one day win over his new in-laws, aunts, uncles and Maggie’s wild-card grandmother, Abuelita, and live happily ever after with his one true love, Maggie. Tune in from Tuesday 2 October 19:30 CAT.

Top Chef Masters III:  It is more like a battle of the knives and skillets and it returns to DStv with a brand new format and 12 new award-winning chefs hungry to compete for the title of Top Chef Master and win 100 000 USD for their charity. This season, the masters will no longer be judged on a scale but in elimination style challenges just as the tried and true format of the original Top Chef. In each episode, money will be at stake with the winners of every quickfire challenge winning 5 000 USD and elimination challenges winning 10 000 USD for their designated charities. Celebrity chef Curtis Stone will serve as the newly appointed host of the series along with returning judge and culinary expert, James Oseland and new series judge, food critic and author, Ruth Reichl. Watch it from Saturday 6 October at 19:30 CAT.

So much so that they even record themselves with their home video cameras or even mobile phones and post their acts on the net for the world to see. Tune in to DSTV from Saturday 6 October and get to see the web’s most talented amateurs getting a shot at superstardom with Nigel Lythgoe of So You Think You Can Dance fame as the host.
