CHAR 2‘Charlatans by iamISIGO’ is a t-shirt and polo shirt line by the eccentric and trendy designer, Miss Bubu Ogisi. The casual apparel line which is a sub-division of the main clothing line, iamISIGO debuted in October 2010 and has since been a firm favourite of many young men and women across Ghana and Nigeria.

A charlatan is a person practicing quackery or some similar confidence trick in order to obtain money, fame or other advantages via some form of pretence or deception and that inspired Bubu’s range because she believes there is a bit of pretence in everyone of us.  “The name was inspired from the fact that we all have a little pretence and quackery in us so the line represents that little bit of pretence behind each character.”

With lively and imposing avatars that give character to the shirts, Charlatan wears are colourful, stylish, young and fresh.  These charlatans have interesting names and characters. Frankie is the cool guy that everyone loves; Freddie is the simple nice guy; Sammie is the punk rock “go getta”; Amy is the cute girl who believe she’s a princess; Dolly is a diva who gives out attitude; Sandy is the no holds barred girl, she gets what she wants when she wants; and the twins Pierre and Peter are black and white the irony because Pierre is Peter in English.

iamISIGO items are sold on request in Ghana , Nigeria , London , Paris and America , and comes with special delivery services . The website is under construction and should be up and running before the end of the year.
