Reggae/Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale has stated that he’s happy he went to jail because it has made him popular.

The “Melissa” hitmaker was arrested and jailed for his alleged involvement in the creation and circulation of information intended to cause fear and panic.

Speaking in an interview with Joy News after the Creative Arts Industry meeting with the IGP on Wednesday, November 10, Shatta explained he isn’t worried at all about his misfortunes over the last couple of weeks.

“The IGP has never done anything wrong. Sending me to jail even made me popular. Whatever happened to me including going to jail and everything, you don’t see that I’m worried about it because I’m so happy,” he stated.

Shatta Wale also believes his arrest has given the IGP new ideas on going about his duties.

‘I think the IGP saw that at least, I’ve also sacrificed my life for him to get some ideas to bring things together like this and solve the problems that we have to solve in this country. We need men like him in the system to solve our problems,” he added.
