Award-winning Content Creator, Kwadwo Sheldon has stated that he deserves to be celebrated for his contributions to making Ghanaian music popular and fun.

The YouTuber, who has dedicated a whole show, called the “Breakdown” on his channel, to decipher lyrics in a funny way explained that the show has contributed to generating interest in some songs that hitherto were not been paid attention to.

A couple of months ago, Sheldon had made a twitter post stating that he deserves an award for his contributions to the music industry.

Reacting to the tweet in an exclusive interview with Ameyaw TV’s Zeinat, he stated;

“They have to build me a statue at the musical headquarters and put my name there as the guy who saved Ghana music. You are interested in what an artist is saying because of Kwadwo Sheldon.”

Although Kwadwo Sheldon gets nothing from his content on the “Breakdown” show due to copyright issues, he believes it is contribution to the industry.

As there continue to be arguments day in day out about the state of the music industry and what needs to be done in order to get Ghanaian music to the top where it belongs, Sheldon bemoaned the lack of interest in some artists in his content.

“At the end of the day, we are trying to promote Ghana music but they don’t even respect us. Sometimes you tag them in the videos and they don’t want to share and they don’t want to do anything about it. You tag them and they ignore you and later on they come back and say Nigerians are our problem which is fine but at the end of the day, once there is demand for the content, I’ll make sure I put it in your news feed,” he added.
