“5th Dimension” album is three years in the making- Stonebwoy

Multiple award-winning Ghanaian reggae/dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy has disclosed that it took three whole years to put his “5th Dimension” album together.

In a recent appearance on TV3’s “New Day”, the “Best reggae/ dancehall artiste” winner at the 24th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards revealed that he started working on the “5th Dimension” album after he released “Anloga Junction” in the year 2020.

“I would say 3 years from the last Album 2020, “Anloga Junction.” So, right from that time till now, till before the release I’ve been working on songs back and forth and we had to choose from 60 plus songs for that album alone aside some of the records that I have been,” he said.

Stonebwoy later revealed that one of his songs off the album with five-time Grammy award winner, Angèlique Kidjo titled “Manodzi” was composed 5 years ago.

“It will interest you to know that “Manodzi” is almost 5 years. We have songs that cannot be outdoored yet,” he disclosed.

Explaining what goes into song selection for a body of work, he stated;

“In terms of selecting songs for an album, I have a team and themes and what you want to achieve with an album.”
