80 percent of my gigs have come without money – Epixode

Ghanaian reggae/dancehall recording artiste, Epixode has revealed that 80 percent of his negotiations doesn’t come with money.

The dynamic Ghanaian artiste disclosed in an interview with Kwame Dadzie that many of his gigs have acquired advantages which is beyond money.

“That one go hard, because you know our system, 80% of the stuff, sometimes some of the negotiations we do doesn’t come with money, the relationships are even sometimes bigger than the money so if I’m looking at it from that perspective, I’ll say I’ve actually gained more things that are even bigger than the money that I have charged.

He continued, “Since we dropped ‘Atia’ it’s been far better than ‘come and pass through’ for me because they are putting respect to it that oh at least you have a team, you need to step up clean.

“Sometimes even with the media houses, I don’t think it would be fair to charge a certain amount so you do barter, that‘s with the media house and even with other companies.

“Let’s say you are in a different company and you happen to like ‘Atia’ and then you invite me for a thing, it’s left with me and my team to actually decide based on what you’re giving us, okay I can’t give you but I own this investment or I can introduce you to this, when you are called by the same person, you don’t even request for money, rather you are looking at some kinda relationship you build with the person that is going to last decades more than just that money”, he said.

Epixode however, revealed some of his side businesses that provides for him monetarily apart from music.

“And mind you some of us are doing other businesses apart from music, I’m a painter and an artist, I do videos, I do graphics and other businesses that even is not attributed to the Epixode brand,” he stated.
