Allow for your breasts to be cut off if the need arises- Stephanie Benson To Breast Cancer Patients

UK-based Ghanaian musician and performer, Princess Akua Ohenewaa, widely known as Stephanie Benson, has opined that it is better for women suffering from breast cancer to allow for their breasts to be cut off during treatment rather than holding on to them and dying at the end.

The award-winning singer, a breast cancer survivor, asserted that it is better for breast cancer patients to lose their breast when the need arises in preference to keeping them because of vanity.

The ‘Its You’ hitmaker made this statement while speaking in an interview with Keely-Jade Brewer on Asaase Radio’s Between Hours on Monday, October 9, 2023. She explained saying, “If the decision arises and you have to take off your breast to survive, make that decision; don’t lose your life because of vanity.”

Stephanie Benson to a greater extent advised breast cancer patients to maintain a positive outlook, stressing that it’s part of the healing process.

“When I first found out, it was shocking; it happened with my cervix first and then my breast. And it pushed me straight into menopause,” she said in reference to her initial experience. I had to get my body back to working condition,” Benson said as she touched on her survival journey. “To be honest, if I wasn’t as healthy in exercise as I was, there was no way I would have survived,” the sister of Akosua Agyapong Said.
