Arise 2 Connect Africa (A2CA),  a Nonprofit Charity Organisation that is committed to raising monies to provide resources for underprivileged communities in Africa, will hold a Fundraising Gala in Orange, New Jersey on November 30 in support of the Bekwai Central Destitute Infirmary (BCDI).

The Bekwai Central Destitute Infirmary (BCDI) is the only infirmary in the country that caters to the destitute. For several years, the government has ceased in allocating funds to the infirmary, leaving the facility in a rather poor state. Majority of the patients are not only aged, but also either blind, lame or mentally unstable.  Arise 2 Connect Africa has partnered with the BCDI for its 2020 mission, “Arising to Restore Hope and Life”.

“With the support of  communities, we will be joining forces in restoring hope to many who have been abandoned. Proceeds will go towards the infirmary in aiding in a renovated facility for the residents to cater all their health concerns, provide food and a loving community,” says members of Arise 2 Connect Africa.

Arise 2 Connect Africa was started about four years ago, where like many immigrant children, founders, Evans Asiamah and Emmanuella Boakye, were eager to go back to their homelands and help in any way they could. Arise 2 Connect Africa board members are made up of young adults primarily from Ghana however with the goal to strengthen all corners of the African continent by improving the quality of education, health and well-being of our people. We currently have 4 branches in New Jersey, Ohio, Kumasi and Accra. In the past four years, we have hosted various events to support schools, families and communities around the African continent.

I caught up with the team in Elizabeth, New Jersey to find out more about projects they are working on and the future of the organisation.
