Asem to release sophomore album, ‘Solid Ground’ online, February 10

<![CDATA[Award winning Ghanaian rapper/songwriter, Asem is set for the release of his second album ‘Solid Ground’ online on Friday, February 10 via his official website.  The album can already boast of winning several awards, as the first single ‘No More Kpayor’ won Best Hiplife video at the 2011 4SYTE Music video awards and Best West African video at the 2011 Nigeria Music Video Awards. The Album The album showcases beat productions from producers in Ghana, South Africa, and USA and features Kwabena Kwabena  on ‘Bye Bye’, Irene Logan  on ‘1000 Fights and Make Ups’ , DJ Black and South African artiste JR on ‘Show Something’.  It will be available online at http://www.asemmusic.com  and CDs will be available in stores from February 17. The album will be distributed in Ghana by WBDN RECORDS and distributed throughout Africa and worldwide by distribution partners in South Africa and the UK. Asem is still active in his role as World Bank Ambassador for education in Ghana. He is now working with Ghana Library Authority, supporting regional reading clinics and mobile libraries for Basic Schools in deprived communities in the capital city, Accra. The Asem foundation in collaboration with Accra Library Board is determined to help increase reading and literacy levels in Ghana with the main focus on basic school children. He comments:  “It is vital for children to be educated and expand their mind through reading for social development. This new Album ‘Solid Ground’ is testimony to my own development within Ghana music to date.  It has been enduring and challenging but has been extremely important in my progression. I am now ready for the rest of the world.  I am now seriously on Solid Ground”. Asem explains that success and living under the spotlight comes with a lot of merits and demerits and one must to be strong and stand firm on Solid Ground, hence the album title. He added that he has been through his own trials and tribulations and he has matured into a better and wiser man.
