<![CDATA[Hmm the power of women! After a very long and hectic weekend of parties which included Saturday night’s Vodafone 020 Live concert one would assume that I would get some rest on the Sunday. Well, that was what I wanted to do but I couldn’t resist the company of the 10 gorgeous finalists of the Miss Malaika beauty contest. I paid a visit to the ‘Malaika House’ to give the girls some tips on blogging. The 10 finalists who have chosen various projects to work on as part of the Miss Malaika @10 contest are required to set up individual blogs for their projects and their associated campaigns. So I was on deck to talk to them about blogging and building a social media following or presence for their individual campaigns. I showed the beauties how to run basic blogs on BlogSpot, so be on the lookout for the individual blogs from your favourite finalists. I must say the girls were a delightful company and they welcomed me warmly. They insisted I had a glass of juice before leaving and we got to play ‘Hangaroo’ together as I tried desperately to prove how smart I am. Well, needless to say, they were impressed (Laugh out Loud!). I was also impressed in a number of ways and I keep wondering what kind of grooming the girls go through that makes them ‘pop out’ suddenly in these beauty contests. I remember telling a few friends that this year’s Miss Malaika didn’t have too many ‘beautiful’ ladies after I attended the launch and unveiling of the Top 10 finalists. However I have had to eat my words after meeting them in the ‘Malaika House’. I kept looking around I couldn’t even identify my top picks from before. Well I will leave the judging to the public and the judges on the show. However, I will surely check out their blogs when they go up to see who paid attention in my class and who’s blog rocks the most! Stay tuned!]]>
