Dave Chappelle talks about opening a comedy club in Ghana and more at #BlackStarLineFestival dialogue

Many Ghanaians were expecting American comedian, Dave Chappelle to have a standup show in Ghana on Thursday afternoon as part of the Black Star Line Festival activations but it ended up as a conversation with Chance The rapper, just as advertised on the festival’s website and socials.

The no-phone, no-cameras event took place at the Cedi Conference Centre, University of Ghana with conversations lasting for over two hours according to reports on social media from some media guests.

According to Fox 5 DC reporter, Nana-Séntuo Bonsu, Chappelle discussed and joked about his arrival in Ghana, and how Stevie Wonder inspired his trip to the country.  He also talked about opening a comedy club in Ghana and  encouraged attendees to invest in Africa. 

Chappelle also promised a group of Ghanaian comedians who were in attendance, including DKB, Lekzy, and OB Amponsah, that he would visit their clubs very soon.
