John Uche’s hot new series GALS is currently delivering great, must-watch, prime-time viewing on AfricaMagic Entertainment every Tuesdays at 22:30 CAT. Having debuted on the channel at the end of January, the weekly series will be on air until April 23 giving fans time to tune in and enjoy the story of three gorgeous women, best friends whose lives, loves and jobs keep them busy and whose close bond is tested time and again!

Filmed in 2012/2013 in Maryland in the USA, the series is based on an idea which originated with Nick Zemura, the writer and cinematographer of GALS.

Starring Desmond Elliot, Sana Kannu Idibia, Su Elisabeth London and Erica Patterson, GALS follows friends Rufi, Cynthia and Fatou whose long relationship with each other means that they are constantly interfering with each other’s plans, giving advice, sharing secrets and arguing about what’s best.

Domineering, wealthy Fatou makes everyone’s business her own as a way to fill the emptiness in her life after her divorce. She lives vicariously through Cynthia, a homemaker who is married to a husband who is slowly forgetting about her. The firebrand is Rufi, the desperately single woman of great beauty who thinks time is running out in her dating life, and as such flits from man to man.  The trio clearly loves each other, but life’s a playground and these “gals” haven’t grown out of their grade school personas!

Uche is very pleased to have his series GALS on Africa Magic Entertainment and says that the program has something special to offer female audiences. “GALS is very interesting, it’s practical and every young, adult female would most likely be able to identify with the different issues the characters go through in their everyday living in the series, which includes the men in their lives.”

GALS is the among the latest work created by Uche, whose recent movies include Brave Heart with Omotola Jalade Ekehinde, Joke Siva and Zack Orji as well as Mind Game starring Omotola Jalade Ekehinde, Van Vicker and Reginald Lubin. In addition, his new title Bianca, featuring Van Vicker, Chet Anekwe and Maureen Esealuka, will soon be screened in Nigeria and Ghana.

Passionate about film and television, Uche says, “Like I would always tell people; if you take my DNA and put it under the microscope, you will find inscribed on it – FILMMAKER.  That’s what God designed and called me to do, so I do it with all the passion he has inspired in me!”

Meanwhile the AfricaMagic team is pleased to have scooped the GALS series and M-Net West Africa Regional Manager Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu says, “AfricaMagic prides itself on acquiring and screening great African programming that is both relevant and engaging. John Uche’s entertaining series GALS is definitely one of these fun, fab shows and we are very pleased to be screening it first!” ]]>
