DStv gives Christmas treat on Holiday Channel

DStv Premium subscribers can look forward to the return of the popular holiday channel in December. The M-199 channel, previously known as the M-Net Holiday Channel, gives subscribers the opportunity to catch up on their favourite series or movies that they might have missed during the year.

The channel will be available from 10 December 2010 to 9 January 2011 and will screen daily from 08:00 CAT to 01:00 CAT. The line-up will consist of family-friendly movies at 08:00 CAT and 10:00 CAT. Midday medicals will screen at 12:00 CAT with MERCY I, this will be followed by PRIVATE PRACTICE III at 13:00 CAT and HOUSE VI at 14:00 CAT.

Afternoon movies will air at 15:00 CAT and Friday musicals will feature programs like HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 3, HANNAH MONTANA, THE JONAS BROTHERS 3D CONCERT EXPERIENCE, THIS IS IT (MICHAEL JACKSON) and MAMMA MIA!

Saturdays will be themed, Saturday Superheroes and will feature the likes of HANCOCK, X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE, HELL BOY II: GOLDEN ARMY, DRAGON BALL: EVOLUTION and INCREDIBLE HULK.

Meanwhile on Sundays the channel will screen Sunday bridal specials and DStv viewers can tune in for a host of themed movies such as; PAINTED VEIL, HAVEN, RACHEL GETTING MARRIED, MADE OF HONOUR and THE PROPOSAL.

Then at 17:00 CAT daily, viewers can tune in for back-to-back series and for themed movies at 21:00 CAT. These movies will air as follows: Monday is comedy and audiences can tune in for BIG NOTHING, MAMA’S BOY, BABY MAMA and UNDER COVER BROTHER. Tuesday is drama night and will feature a host of popular dramas including SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE, STEP BROTHERS, THE DEAL and STRANGE WILDERNESS.

If you love action movies then Wednesday evenings are a must see. The channel will bring air dramas like DISTRICT 9, DECEPTION AKA THE TOURIST LIST, DEATH PROOF and TERMINATOR SALVATION (aka TERMINATOR). On Thursdays, which is chick flick nights, viewers can tune in AMERICANISING SHELLEY, THE OTHER END OF THE LINE, BELLA and OUT OF TIME.

Horror Hour will be at 23:00 CAT on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays while Sundays will be dedicated to series omnibuses and will include; LOST FINAL SEASON (four episodes per Sunday), THE PACIFIC I (two episodes per Sunday) and NURSE JACKIE (two episodes per Sunday).

DStv viewers can tune in for these and other fantastic programs on channel 199 starting on December 10.
