When Naomi Campbell got on that plane and headed to Ghana some months ago, it was mainly for one reason – diplomacy. She took a FLOTUS-worthy wardrobe with her on a diplomatic mission that was adroitly kept hush. The FLOTUS theme has proven magical, allowing her to replicate the fine, simplistic yet futuristic fashion patterns that make the First Lady of the United States (FLOTUS), a fashion goddess.

Borrowing those tightly-worked-out details of Mrs Obama, Campbell channels a stylish First Lady for W Magazine’s Global Style November Issue, for a spread gloriously called “Naomi Campbell: The First Lady of Fashion.” The shots were taken in scenic locations across Accra, including the University of Ghana (Legon), The National Theatre, Movenpick Hotels, MarketSquare and other private locations.

“It’s a tribute to a modern day First Lady on a state trip, evoking the kind of timeless style that could have existed in the 1940′s, 60′s, or even today,” Ghanaian-born British fashion stylist and style director of W Magazine, Edward Enninful, said.
