Last weekend, the Paris Fashion Week Show dazzled with stars like Linsday Lohan, Jared Leto, the Olsen twins and others who witnessed new creations from fashion designers such as Riccardo Tisci, Jean-Paul Gaultier and John Galliano. US rapper and entrepreneur, Kanye west also unveiled his debut DW women’s collection.

Back in 2009, Kanye West interned at GAP in an attempt to figure out the ins and outs of fashion and the industry. In the years that followed, Kanye developed a brand, DW, and created a whole line of his own designs. He unveiled his new fashion line at Paris Fashion week, and analysts don’t seem too impressed so far

West’s show may be less renowned for its clothing than it will be for its celebrity attendance. Lindsey Lohan, the Olsen Twins, and Ciara were in attendance, as were designers Alexander Wang and Joseph Altuzarra. DW looks ranged from binding leather pants and dresses, to pops of orange colour and beaded prints. Another weird look on several of the models was shoes reminiscent of giant stretched marshmallows lashed together. Fur was also present, but not as noticeable as the multiple low-cut tops. You can check out pictures from the runway event over at MTV.

For pop singer, Ciara, the collection hit the spot. She loved the line, its colours, patterns, and textures:  “It was definitely one of the most talked-about events, because it wasn’t going to be your typical show. This doesn’t happen every day, and to see someone like Kanye, who aspires to succeed in fashion, to get so much respect and cross over like this, it was monumental. It was an historic moment.”

Ciara was also spotted at the front row with Haitian actor and former model, Jimmy Jean-Louis at the Jean-Paul Gaultier 2012 Winter/Autumn collection fashion show.
