From March 14 – 29,  the Alliance Francaise in Accra will return with the Francophonie Festival. It  is organized each year to promote the francophone cultures in Ghana. The Alliance Francaise Accra wants to show the dynamism and the variety of the French culture with a series of concerts, shows, performances, exhibitions, a movie festival, a job fair, a fun fair and much more!!!

The festival will begin with  a Student Ball on 14th march at 7pm, for an entertaining night during which Miss and Mister Alliance will be elected. (5 Ghc/ 2Ghc students and cultural members)

 

On Saturday 15th march at 7pm, Mouron will officially open the Festival with her beautiful voice accompanied by her pianist, she will sing the most famous songs of the French repertoire. (10Ghc /5Ghc students and cultural members)

From Thursday 20th March until 23rd April there will be an exclusive exhibition of hand painted film posters from the 1980’s painted by Joseph Oduro with the arrival of video and videocassettes in 80’s. (free)

Also from Thursday 20th March to Saturday 29th March, the second edition of the francophone film festival, will take place. People can watch the best of the francophone cinema and 10 shorts Ghanaian movies nominated to win the best short movie award. (free)

A job fair will take place on Friday 21st March from 10am to 3pm. It will be a great opportunity for corporate bodies, institutions and young Ghanaian graduates to meet and get abreast of job opportunities. (free)

On Saturday 22nd March, there will be a big fun fair from 10 am to 5 pm where French associations will display varieties of cultures by musical performances, a selection of food, drinks, crafts and literature. The draw of the big raffle will be done! (free)

The festival will end with a concert at 8pm by Sessime, a new Benin star of Afropop-rock music. (Free)
