From Apple Music With Love: Hit-Boy Exclusive Mix Hosted by FERG

Apple Music is getting into the giving spirit this holiday season with the launch of From Apple Music With Love, a special countdown to the holidays. Each day at 8:00a PST from November 26 – December 3, Apple Music subscribers will receive exclusive gifts from some of the biggest and brightest names in music, stamped with love and ready for unwrapping. Gifts range from exclusive EPs in Spatial Audio, to a behind-the scenes documentary films, to special holiday playlists, radio episodes, DJ mixes, and beyond.

Today’s exclusive gift is an exclusive mix by Hit-Boy hosted by FERG: a collection of songs that made Hit-Boy & FERG who they are today. If FERG, the Harlem-bred superstar MC who made his name as part of A$AP Mob, wants us to know anything about the Apple-exclusive mix he curated with Hit-Boy, it’s that this is truly the music that moves him. “This is the music that I listen to all the time,” he says. “Whether I’m working out, or whether I’m just in the car, or before my shows—I guess they oldies now, but I like to call them classics.” With selections from New York all-time greats like DMX, JAY-Z, and Mary J. Blige, it’s not hard to understand how FERG was struck by these songs. As a kid, the MC was a sponge to what was popular on his block, and the playlist is a reflection of how it informs what he does today. “A lot of these songs, I was raised and I grew up on,” FERG says. “You got hip-hop and R&B in there, you got a mixture of some hardcore rap, all of these vibes—you get to see my eclectic sounds, that inspire my music.”
