Embattled Ghanaian actor and comedian, Benson Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng, otherwise known as Funny Face has made a heartfelt plea to Ghanaians urging compassion and understanding during what he describes as one of the most challenging periods of his life.

Funny, known for his infectious humor and larger-than-life persona, following his release on bail by the Kasoa-Akweley District Court, appealed for forgiveness and the opportunity to help rebuild the damaged trust.

According to the ‘Children’s President’, he is aware that Ghanaians are very upset with him for not being able to stand firm and deal with his challenges effectively.

In an exclusive interview with Kofi Adoma on Kofi TV, the actor asserted that he takes full responsibility for the troubles he’s faced, admitting, “I don’t blame anybody for my troubles but myself. I messed everything up.”

He went on to emphasized that while his acts were not premeditated, he accepts full responsibility for them and would now take modest measures toward becoming a better person.

“I feel like a new person who is taking life seriously now. I created issues for myself. I refuse to blame anyone for what I went through. The world is terrifying, but I am the root cause of my difficulties. I am the primary cause of my troubles. Everyone is now fed up with me, and that is the point I’ve reached, yet no one understands what I’m going through. I am dealing with concerns about my children. So, what would have happened if the kids I knocked down had died?

“Ghanaians should forgive me. I know everyone is fed up with me right now, but please forgive me. That’s why I took a bath: I wanted to tell God everything. So I may seek God for forgiveness since only Jehovah can tell Ghanaians to love me again. I need God’s favor as well as Ghanaians’ favor. It has never been my intention to ruin anything with my hands after all of these years of hard work. No! However, there are life-related concerns. I have so much to say, but I don’t have the words,” he said.

Funny Face was granted bail in the amount of GH¢120,000 by a District Court in Kasoa. This comes after he was remanded for injuring five people in an accident at Kakraba in Kasoa.
