British-born Nigerian musician, Jiff has completed a brand new producer mixtape titled, ‘Welcome to Naijand House’,  where he blends the funky house and Dance music genre into the remixes of some of Nigeria’s classic tracks.  ‘Welcome to Naijand House’ mixtape features the heavyweights of Afrobeat music with the likes of Ice Prince, Tiwa Savage, Kas, Orezi and many more.

Jiff first stamped his multitalented singing, writing, producing and rapping skills in the music industry as a member of a hiphop duo, Paragon, in 1998. After a couple of singles and album releases Jiff  decided to follow a different path because he had always wanted to write songs that encompass his personality in variety of different musical genres.

Jiff spent years entering talent competitions and helping out at recording studios. He also registered as an extra for movies and music videos and he made several such cameo appearances. The ‘BeatJacker Mixtape Volume 1’, a compilation of penned lyrics by Jiff on instrumentals of established artist was the defining moment that marked his arrival. He recounts:  “This mixtape was just a taste of what’s to come while the album is cooking. I started with ‘U R Nigerian Queen’ which I wrote in 2hours to Akon’s Mama Africa rhythm. I created a slideshow for YouTube which has now received over 900,000 views and it just went from there, I didn’t plan to do a mixtape it just happened.”

His single earlier this year, ‘Cobra’ was also a success as it delivered a fantastic mainstream pop sound coupled with a heavy bass line and melodious vocals akin to what is enjoyed in clubs all over the world. Featuring the award winning Modenine, Cobra’s metaphoric lyrics surely raised some eyebrows.

Jiff cites R.Kelly, Prince and Babyface among those who have inspired his adeptness as a songwriter and as a producer; he was inspired by Teddy Riley and Timbaland.
