Legendary Ghanaian music producer, Edward Nana Poku Osei, famously known as Hammer of the Last Two has disclosed the reason behind his divorce in 2004.

In a discussion on D-Black’s ‘Uncut’ show the well-known producer opened up about his short-lived marriage and said there was no real love between them.

Hammer explained that he only married her partner back then because they had a child together and did not want her to become a ‘born one’.

According to him, after less than five months they both had to separate their marriage amicably because they realized they were not compatible.

“It wasn’t about the industry. I feel like marriage is divine and I was one of the unlucky ones. A match wasn’t made in Heaven and we are great friends because we raised the kids together. It lasted less than five months. After the ceremony we had a mutual (understanding to go separate ways). This is 2004.

“With my marriage, I think it was a typical issue that a lot of people go through. We had a kid and I thought it wise to not let her go home as a ‘born one’. So even though we were not mutually very much in love like a marriage kind of love, I still thought it would work.  So I decided to wed her like a traditional quite one. And we realized quickly that we really wouldn’t be with each other so we had to agree that this won’t go anywhere and the further we go, the further we hurt each other.  So that’s why we are able to welcome good friends,” Hammer noted

The legendary producer further revealed that he has not remarried since and is not in a hurry to settle down as soon as possible.

Despite this decision, the music producer said he is in a relationship with a “very great woman” and will marry her with time.

“I haven’t remarried. I’m married to my children. They are beautiful and my best friends. I will marry again. I have seen a couple of great women and currently with a very great woman because I do not want to make her a mother before she becomes a mother, my kids are in the university now so until they finish,” he added.
