Happy FM Keep Fit festival ends in a show of Peace and Unity

<![CDATA[The much- anticipated Keep Fit Festival hosted by Accra-based Happy FM, had a massive patronage over the weekend, as hundreds of Keep Fit Clubs from all over the country joined hands with officials of Happy FM, politicians, actors, pastors, and many others to keep fit in love and unity. With hot ‘jama’ tunes and an energetic crowd, officials of Happy FM and the keep fit clubs started the festival with a 5km health walk from the premises of Happy FM to the El Wak stadium. The Keep fit activities started in the early morning of Saturday at the Stadium with a shake-up. Station Manager of Happy FM, Charles Osei Asibey making his intention clear about the motive behind the event said, ‘The Happy FM keep fit Festival is an annual event and this is the 2nd edition. I am happy to see such a multitude here today and Happy FM is grateful to you all for your presence.  Let us keep fit in love and unity towards the polls in December.’ As part of the Keep Fit Festival, Global Media Alliance, the mother company of Happy FM in collaboration with UT Bank gave free breast cancer screening to attendees. The CEO of UT Bank, Dr. Prince Kofi Amoabeng touched on the importance of Breast Cancer screening and also shared Happy FM’s initiative of peace and oneness towards the polls in December with the multitude. On the games itself, the curtain raiser featured a football match between pastors and actors with notable personalities like Abeiku Seigo, Prince David Osei, Kumchacha, Joshua Clottey, among others participating. Led by Dr. Rev Owusu Bempah, the pastors beat the actors 1-0. It was Stay Cool Keep Fit Club that emerged as the overall winners demonstrating great skills in all disciplines to run away with the giant trophy, some Tigo souvenirs and Latex Foam products. West Side Keep Fit Club placed second, also taking home souvenirs from Tigo and Latex Foam, while Expensive Keep Fit Club finished third. New Juaben Keep Fit retained their title as the Best Jama Group, taking home some attractive souvenirs from the sponsors. The Managing Director of Global Media Alliance, organizers of the event, Ernest Boateng stated in a post-event interview, “It has been a memorable event. We want to encourage people to practice healthy life styles. This year, we partnered UT Bank to help propagate the news about breast cancer, hence the screening exercise today. Many are dying of this menace due to ignorance.” He described the event which begun with a walk from the premises of Happy FM as a huge success.]]>
