According to D-Black, despite his wish to go Legon, his parents had him attend the University of Cape Coast (UCC).

In a recent interview on Bryt Tv, D-Black explained that his parents were not happy with the music path he chose, adding that he was sacked from home and he had to attend the choice of school his parents decided for him.

“I came out of senior high school straight into music and parents weren’t too happy, they sacked me from school, sacked me from house and I went to the University of Cape Coast, my parents made sure I went to UCC but I wanted to go to Legon and whilst I was in school I was watching shows like Alo Tigo and I see some of my boys being interviewed and going places so I’ll leave school, come to Accra, nothing will happen, then I go back,” he narrated.
