During a recent interview with popular media personality, Vivz, Joeboy shared that he wrote the song to bring attention to the issue of domestic violence against women. He emphasized that women are sometimes mistreated in African society, and he wanted to address this through his music.

The host said: “‘Better’ is my favourite song ever. In that song, it’s like you’re speaking up for a woman that has been treated badly by another man.”

Joeboy said: “It’s something that happens a lot in African society; domestic abuse. Sometimes women are maltreated and not treated properly. I wanted to shed light on domestic violence against women.”

The crooner also expressed his gratitude towards Mr. Eazi for his support in his music career, as he announced the launch of his new label, Young Legend, in partnership with Warner Group. Despite his success, Joeboy remains committed to using his platform to advocate for important social issues.
