I’m 43-percent Nigerian- Meghan Markle reveals

In the most recent episode of her podcast, the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle has released the findings of her genealogy.

In the seventh episode of ‘Archetypes,’ titled Upending the Angry Black Woman Myth, the Duchess of Sussex spoke with Nigerian-American comedian Ziwe Fumudoh about what she had learned.

According to Meghan, she found out she was partly Nigerian.

“I just had my genealogy done a couple of years ago. I am 43-percent Nigerian,” Meghan said.

“No way! Oh my gosh! Are you really serious?” Ziwe replied.

Although the 41-year-old claimed she was unsure of her ancestors’ tribe, she said she planned to “start to research more into all of this.”

“Anyone that I have told, especially Nigerian women are just like, ‘What?’,” Meghan revealed.

Ziwe, who was shocked at the revelation, explained to the Duchess how this was  “huge for our community.”

“No, honestly, you do look like a Nigerian. You look like my aunt Uzo. So this is great!” Ziwe told Meghan
