The Kings University College Faculty of Law, Governance and International Relations is headed by Prof. Henry H. Mensah – a renowned Professor of Law. The Faculty was established in 2013 and has since contributed immensely to the provision of quality legal education in Ghana.

The Faculty offers a variety of courses ranging from Ghana Legal System and Methods, Ghana Constitutional Law and History, Law of Tort, Law of Contract, Immovable Property among others. Unlike other Faculties of Law, the Kings University College Faculty of Law also offers courses in Governance and International Relations. These non-

law courses provide an in-depth understanding of the roles and relationships that define and regulate the social practices of States and Non-State actors in international affairs.

The efforts of the Faculty in providing quality legal education are evident in diverse ways. For example, Kings University College has a well-stocked Law Library to support teaching, learning and research. The Faculty equally organizes regular inter-chambers moot court competitions to enhance the advocacy and drafting skills of its Law students. Additionally, the Students Representative Council (SRC) of the University is given the opportunity to establish students’ Judicial Council to resolve student-related legal issues under the supervision of University’s Management. All these actions are geared towards churning out Law graduates who will have excellent writing and advocacy skills.

Further, as a result of the relentless efforts of the Faculty, students of Kings University College Faculty of Law, Governance and International Relations have participated and consistently excelled in various fronts of Law in Ghana ranging from passing the Ghana Law School Entrance Examinations, the Gambian Law School Examinations and many other Law School Examinations in other jurisdictions.

The Faculty is also reputed for its excellent performance among other competing Law Faculties. For example, in the national inter Faculty of Law quiz contest dubbed “Ghana Law Challenge” organized by Star Touch World Investment held in 2019, the Kings University College emerged 4th among 16 Law Faculties in Ghana. In the 2021 edition of the Law Challenge, Kings University College Faculty of Law improved its performance and emerged 3rd among Law Faculties in Ghana.

Also, in 2022 edition of the Law Challenge, Kings University College Faculty of Law, Governance and International Relations once again improved on its performance and emerged 3rd after beating the University of Ghana School of Law. The KUC Faculty of Law, Governance & International Relations also was adjudged to have the best male contestant in the 2022 edition of the Law Challenge. By these strides KUC became the first Private University Faculty of Law to contest at the finals of the annual Law Challenge series. The Faculty is committed to improving upon its academic prowess with an aim to emerge as the Premium Law Faculty in Ghana in few years to come.

Finally, Kings University College Faculty of Law has outstanding Law Professors, Senior Lecturers and Teaching Assistants who are knowledgeable and passionate about impacting students with legal knowledge. They teach and share their expert knowledge and experience acquired through years of practice in the real world. They mentor students and are readily accessible by all students.
